Instructional Foundations of TEFL

General Aim
- The aim of this module is to provide an introduction to basic theoretical and methodological issues in learning and teaching English as foreign language. In this module, students shall develop a TEFL theoretical framework, comprised of basic education and TEFL concepts, principles, theories and models required to support effect language teaching.
Specific Aim
- 1. To understand the importance of English learning and teaching in today´s world.
  2. To analyze the underlying concepts of learning and teaching to develop a conceptual framework for effective language teaching.
  3. To identify the key elements of professional language teachers and their common quality teaching practices.
  4. To identify the basic elements of language and communication required to implement a TEFL communicative approach.
  5. To apply key concepts, theories and models related to language learning and acquisition to the design of effective TEFL learning environments.
  6. To understand the key principles of communicative TEFL methodology.
